About Us
Climbing pyramids in the gym

The Beaverland Must-Skis were founded in 1994 by a small group of people that were interested in starting a show ski team on Beaver Dam Lake in Beaver Dam, WI. It all started with just 10 people, but membership slowly grew to 42members by the end of the 1995 season. During the winter we practiced indoors at the YMCA where we learned how to climb pyramids in the pool. During the summer we performed exhibitions at Tahoe Park and practiced across the bay at a personal residence.

In 1997, we introduced our first themed show, Must Ski or Deal, and we participated in our first tournament where we placed 1st in Division III at the Wisconsin State Tournament. As membership and experience grew we moved up to Division II performing larger and more difficult acts. We were able to officially call Tahoe Park our home seven years after the team was formed. In 2004 we partnered with Lake Days to expand the main shelter building and in 2005 we installed a large main starting dock that was also made available to the public.

5-high at 2011 Nationals

In 2006 and 2007 we won the Wisconsin State Tournament in Division II and moved up to Division I the following season where we started competing with some of the largest and most talented teams in the state. In 2011 we built our first 5-high pyramid and we qualified to go to the National Tournament for the first time where we placed 10th. At the time we were one of only 5 teams in the Nation to successfully build a 5-high pyramid. Later in 2016 we managed to place6th at Nationals where we built a record final pyramid with 44 people including a double-top 4-high pyramid in the center.

Today we have about 90-100 members and typically perform 14 free shows a year at Tahoe Park in Beaver Dam. In addition, we sponsor a learn-to ski clinic during Best Dam Fest, with the team donating their time, boats, gas and equipment to assist young skiers to learn or advance in the sport.
